Services

cost analysis

We offer the benefit of our experience to review your restaurant’s linen rental invoices and service agreement to see if your costs are in line, to identify waste, check your inventory levels, and help you address quality and service issues. Restaurant managers cannot be expected to know the linen rental industry’s secrets. We do. We can also help you explore alternative vendors if you believe your dining room or hospitality company is not reflecting the image you had when you started.

linen management/staff training

CLC can work independently to evaluate your linen usage, reject linen rates and products available to you. Or we can train your staff and management so they can do the work effectively and efficiently, with a thorough understanding of the various billings systems and invoicing methods used in the industry. Once you know where to look for the hidden revenue sources used by linen rental companies to boost their profits, you can avoid being overcharged.

design and sourcing

We have had a long and successful history in linen design and sourcing. Linen rental companies have to stock relatively generic (and generally poor-quality polyester) products so as to appeal to the widest selection of restaurants. If you don’t want to shop off the rack, if you want to make a statement with your tabletop, if you want something unique and elegant, let us work with you to find it, and if it doesn’t exist, to design it and have it made. We work with the finest mills in Italy and France to create durable cotton linens in a multitude of colors, weaves, and styles to fit any decor.

cleaning solutions

We are now an authorized representative of Diamond Chemical. For almost 100 years Diamond has manufactured soaps, sanitizers, disinfectants, cleaning products and dispensing equipment to make your kitchen as efficient as possible, your dishware and cookware as clean as it can be, all while helping you save money. They also offer 24/7 service of your existing dishwasher and other equipment, and they can help you buy or lease new equipment of necessary. There’s a good chance your linen service uses Diamond in their laundry process. I did, and so should you!

mats and rugs

We are now an authorized distributor for M+A Matting. Formerly known as Mountville Mills, they are the industry leader in the manufacture of kitchen mats, anti-fatigue mats, logo rugs, entry rugs, restroom mats, virtually any solution a restaurant, hotel or hospitality company might need. Products are commercially launderable, durable, anti-microbial. We are happy to provide pricing and options, or even do a mock-up of a logo rug for your front door. Just send us your artwork!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work on site or remotely?

Either. Or both! The analysis of invoices and service agreements can easily be done remotely. Inventory management, counts, and linen inspection are better done at the restaurant. Sourcing and design can be done remotely just as easily as on-site. We are fully vaccinated against Covid-19, and will happily comply with any mask requirement.

we have an operations team. why should we hire you?

Simple. Linen rental is a fairly arcane and opaque industry. You and your staff are probably more used to invoices for purchases or items sold by the piece or by the case. Linen is rented, not sold, and often the invoicing is based on inventory rather than piece count. How your company might define inventory is a whole separate discussion! Hire us because we speak fluent linen. We will throw back the curtain and make sure you know exactly what you are paying for.

does it make sense for a restaurant to own linen rather than rent?

Yes. Linen rental companies, by their nature, must stock fairly generic, bullet-proof, long-lived product. That generally means polyester in primary colors and standard sizes. It also means that their profitability depends in getting as many turns as possible, often leaving with you an old, shiny, washed-out synthetic mess on your tables. Buying means you can have exactly the color you want, in the weave you want, in the sizes that are right for your tables and the drape you prefer. And it means you can take pieces out of circulation when you want to. You are in control.

where do you source your linens from?

We do not rep particular textile companies for the simple reason that we do not want to push one company or product on our clients because of some kind of relationship we might have that has nothing to do with the restaurant. We source from a wide array of mills based on what you need. We have our favorites, but your favorites are what matters. We will provide the alternatives.

if we buy our linens, who will wash and press them for us?

Your current linen supplier likely already handles COG (customer-owned goods) or NOG (“not our goods”) linens and uniforms for other customers. CLC is happy to have that conversation with your supplier if you wish. If your current supplier refuses to process your COG linens, we’ll help you find one who will.

we want to change linen companies but they say we can’t. can you help us?

Probably. Give us a call.
